Gilbert Birdsall Mead

Gilbert Birdsall Mead was born on February 10, 1911 in North Castle, NY to parents George E. and Amanda L. Birdsall Mead.  As per the 1930 and 1940 U.S. Censuses, he was a gardener/nurseryman.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 16, 1942 at Fort Jay, Governors Island, NY as a Private.  He was in Battery D of the 73rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion.  No further information is available on his service.

No information is available on his post-service life.  He was single when he died on April 10, 1969 in North Castle.
