Macy James Fitsemons

Macy James Fitsemons was born on March 16, 1916 in Golden's Bridge, NY to parents Macy Barnes and Harriet E. Sarles Fitsemons.  [Macy's brother Raymond was also a veteran, is buried in Middle Patent Cemetery and is included in this website.]  As per the 1920 U.S. Census, the family lived in New Castle, NY.  As per the 1930 and 1940 U.S. Censuses, the family lived in Yorktown, NY.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 15, 1942 at Fort Jay Governor's Island, NY as a Private.  He was released from service with the rank of Technican 5th Class (TEC 5) on December 4, 1945.  No further information is available on his service.

He married Jean Holt on July 29, 1948 in Pleasantville, NY.  They had a son and a daughter.  No further information is available on his life post-service.  He died on September 9, 2003 in Carmel, NY (some records state Castle Point, NY).
